The term REALTOR® is a membership mark that identifies a licensed real estate professional who is a member of National Association of REALTORS® (NAR),” explained Smith. Most noteworthy is that “Members of NAR subscribe to a Code of Ethics. They are required to take training on the Code every two years.”
NAR adopted its Code of Ethics in 1913. The Code spells out professional responsibilities owed to clients, other Realtors® and the general public. Besides that, “Realtors® also have access to educational opportunities in both residential and commercial. This directly benefits the consumer.”
